Shipping and Refund Policies

SHIPPING POLICY

All food items - malt, sugar, hops, beer yeast, vinegar cultures, soda extracts, grape concentrates and flavorings, and all cheesemaking ingredients are non-taxable.

Tax is added to the taxable items at 8.5% for items shipped to California addresses.

We have a flat rate of $6.00 for UPS packages shipping to California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Some items are restricted.

We add the exact UPS or mail charges for all shipments outside the stated western states as well as any order for items considered "oversize" by the carrier such as the following items: Bulk sacks of grains or chemicals in their original 50 or 55 lb. bags, Mosto Italiano Wine Kits, wine barrels larger than 5 gallons, beer keg systems, caboys and cases of beer and wine bottles. The shipping rate calculator on our shopping cart page will help you determine whether your order qualifies for flat rate shipping.

Alaska and Hawaii and orders from outside the USA will ship via the mail service that is most appropriate, usually Priority Mail unless the items are very heavy, where Parcel post is less expensive.

If you choose domestic mail instead of UPS, your charges will be determined at the time of shipping.. You may also call 800 544 1867 or email us to get a rate quotation prior to placing an order.
Items too large for UPS or the mail will be palletized for shipment via motor freight truck. We can get a freight quote ahead of shipping, but we need you to supply your destination address, phone, and your ability to accept a palletized shipment (such as requirements for a lift gate, pallet jack, or fork lift).


REFUND POLICY

All our supplies are guaranteed for one year. Yeast is perishable and should be refrigerated on arrival (best used in 60 to 90 days). All refunds will be provided as a credit to the credit card used at the time of purchase upon receipt of the returned merchandise. No refunds are allowed on sales of living organisms such as yeast and bacteria. Call us at 800-544-1867 if a return is necessary.
