How To Make Hop Water

A Recipe to Make a Glass or Keg Full

A pre-requisite for this recipe is that you will need to have carbonated water on hand.  If you are just testing the recipe, you might use some sparkling water purchased from the store.  If you like the recipe, I highly recommend that you put sparkling water on tap at home in a keg.  If you are not familiar with that process, our instructions for making a keg of sparkling water are available here.

 

 


 

Hop Water Recipe


 

Hop Water for One Person

 Estimated Calories: 30-35 calories.

Ingredients:

16 oz Cup full of ice

1-2 tsp Simple Cane Sugar Syrup

2 drops of Distilled Essential Hop Oil

Optional: 2 drops of Mango Flavoring

Carbonated-Acidified Sparkling Water (non-acidified is fine too)

Method

Fill your cup with ice. Measure 1-2 tsp of Simple Cane Sugar Syrup and pour it in. Top with carbonated-acidified sparkling water. Add a couple drops of Distilled Essential Hop Oil and a couple drops of Mango Flavoring (optional) and stir. Enjoy!


 

 Hop Water - 5 Gallon Keg Full

Ingredients:

5 gallon R.O. Water

1 Tbsp Citric Acid

1 1/3 cups Simple Cane Sugar Syrup

6-7 ml of Distilled Essential Hop Oil

Optional: 6-7 ml of Mango Flavoring

Optional: 1/2 tsp of Gypsum or Calcium Chloride or both

Method

Mix the above ingredients in a clean and sanitized 5 gallon keg. Place under refrigeration with a pressure of about 25-30 PSI.  Allow it to force carbonate for a few days and then enjoy with ice!
