Our Mead Starter Kits are nearly identical with one major difference in each kit you can choose---the material of the fermentation vessels. While the HDPE buckets are food safe, and the plastic PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles are very appropriate for alcohol storage with very low oxygen permeability, some meadmakers will appreciate the durability and longevity of the glass or stainless steel fermentors. The other pieces of equipment have been selected for inclusion in the kit as critical pieces of equipment for success which are generally not stocked in the average home kitchen.
