Briess 120 Lovibond Caramel Malt is a popular specialty grain for lending a deep maltiness to amber to black English, Belgian, and German styles of beer. Lower usage rates provide figgy dried fruit and toffee notes while higher percentages increase the bittersweet burnt sugar character. Styles particularly well suited for this malt include: Extra Special Bitter - ESB, Belgian Dubbel or Quad, and German Doppelbock.
