Specifications
  • Learn about our Hop Freshness Program
  • Alpha Acids & Crop Year: We print the alpha acid percentage and crop year on the hop package. Alpha acid levels will vary within a general range indicated above. Crop year is the year of harvest. When pelletized and stored in oxygen-barrier bags at cold temperatures to reduce oxidation, hops can remain in good condition for 3 to 4 years.
  • Hop Form: Dried Whole Cone
  • Smells Like: Citrus, Coconut, Tropical Fruit, Stone Fruit, Herbal, Mint
  • Suited For: Flavor and Aroma is hop forward beers.
  • Commercial Uses: Russian River's Ron Mexico
  • Notes: Sabro was first contracted by Russian River Brewing company as an Ales for ALS fundraising release for homebrewers in 2015---at that time it was known only as HBC 438. The next year, Russian River brought it to market in a popular beer release Ron Mexico. As of 2018 it became available to the marketplace for all to enjoy the beautiful tropical, citrus, herbal complexity in any beer they can conceive. Sabro has proven to be a strongly expressive hop that translates its flavor incredibly well into beer. It is a good choice in single hop beers and holds its place well as the focus of any hoppy beer.
